Sustainability

Royal Adventures is committed to working towards a sustainable future through responsible travel practices that contribute positively to and empower the communities that we work with. By taking mindful and continual steps, our goal is to go beyond a standard level of economic, socio-cultural, and environmental sustainability efforts to minimize the inevitable footprint left behind. As a family-owned business, our efforts begin in our California-based office, where we have reduced waste and the use of paper and plastic in our everyday workday, and in every aspect of pre-planning for our trips.

  • The majority of our trip brochures are produced online as PDF brochures and are only printed in small batches if requested by our client. When they are printed, they are printed in the U.S. and not overseas.
  • Most of our correspondence with our travelers and clients, is sent via email. This includes confirmation emails, travel guides, and invoices.
  • Required traveler documentation and information is collected online via our Traveler Portal and online registration instead of using and mailing paper forms.
  • Most documents and traveler waivers are signed via e-signatures online.
  • We use eco-friendly wooden name badges and luggage tags for our trips, which are made in the U.S.A. and sourced from sustainable forests in Colorado. Our name badges and luggage tags are also engraved in the U.S.A. as well.
  • Our shipping labels are printed on 100% recycled paper and are curbside recyclable and are made in North America.

Environmental Sustainability

We provide guidance and tips to our travelers on how to travel more sustainably, such as encouraging the use of reusable water bottles during the program and providing refills throughout the trip to reduce the amount of single-use plastic.

Socio-Cultural Sustainability

We create trusting relationships with communities by working closely with our local suppliers to provide a personalized experience, and to be sure our travel experiences positively contribute to the community.

Our trips focus on an area’s cultural and natural heritage, and we seek to provide authentic and meaningful experiences for both our travelers and the communities we visit.

Economic Sustainability

We carefully choose like-minded partners around the world and favor local suppliers that share our sustainability goals.

We support the communities we visit by staffing local guides and visiting locally-owned restaurants and businesses as much as possible, mindfully contributing to the economic sustainability of the area.
