Program Overview

Explore on this 13-day cruise and land adventure one of the spectacular corners of the world, Patagonia - a land of wonders at the end of the earth. Patagonia offers an awesome landscape of pampas, lakes, mountains, glaciers, and abundant wildlife. For the cruise portion of this compelling voyage, we have chosen the 210-passenger exploration vessel, Ventus Australis to sail through the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel, and the fjords of Tierra del Fuego toward the "End of the World" in Ushuaia. Weather permitting, visit the legendary Cape Horn. Later explore the southernmost beech forests of Tierra del Fuego National Park. Your expedition ventures inland to El Calafate to explore Glaciers National Park, declared by UNESCO to be part of the Natural Heritage of Humanity, and to marvel at the massive glacier, Perito Moreno. Then, traverse the Andes into Chilean Patagonia to spend three nights at the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Torres del Paine National Park, set amid monolithic granite spires, azure-colored lakes, and glaciers. Here condors ride on currents above the Andes, and foxes, rheas, and guanacos give chase in the windswept pampas.

Take a walk to experience the spectacular beauty of the Magellanic forest.

Day 9: El Calafate / Torres del Paine National Park

Depart El Calafate and ascend the high Patagonian plateau from where you can appreciate the whole Santa Cruz River Valley, Lake Argentino, and the Andes Mountains in the background. After driving through Patagonia’s windswept landscape, cross from Argentina into Chile and arrive in Puerto Natales and your hotel. (3 Nights)

The island’s history is as intriguing as its natural beauty. Hundreds of moai, tight-lipped basalt statues unique in the whole of Oceania, are scattered throughout the island. (3 Nights)
