Family Panama: Sloths, Monkeys, Pirates & Canal
Program Overview
Panama's rain forests, pristine beaches, abundant and accessible wildlife, historic Spanish forts, and Trans-Isthmian Railroad, make it a natural family destination. Its canal is captivating to kids, their parents, and grandparents alike. Explore two appealing regions: Panama City with its canal and nearby nature reserves and Bocas del Toro, a beautiful archipelago and a biologist's fantasy. Highlights of the program include a visit to the Sloth Sanctuary and the Rainforest Discovery Center. Travel by boat through the Pedro Miguel and Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal and ride on the historic Panama Canal Railway to Fort San Lorenzo that defended the Spanish against pirates. At Bocas del Toro snorkel along coral reefs and kayak among the mangroves, looking for marine life, birds, reptiles, and several species of monkeys. We will learn about new cultures and make new friends. What more exhilarating way to spend a family holiday!
