This program uncovers the art, cuisine, and wines of Argentina, one of the major art centers in Latin America with donor-led visits to museums, private art collections, artist studios, wine tastings, and other private entrees. Discover Buenos Aires, an elegant and cosmopolitan city with a European flavor and friendly atmosphere. The many excellent museums and art galleries, the myth of "Evita", the River Plate waterfront, beautiful parks, monuments, and excellent restaurants, all go with unmatched Argentinean hospitality. In Mendoza, savor superb cuisine, visit with artists, and taste excellent vintages, with the presence of the majestic Andes Mountains in the background.

Itinerary

Day 1: U.S. / Buenos Aires

Overnight flight from the U.S. to Argentina.

Day 2: Arrive Buenos Aires

Arrive today. Afternoon city tour of this cosmopolitan city located on the banks of the River Plate. The city tour can be tailored to fit your particular interests. Welcome dinner and private tango presentation. (4 Nights)

Day 3: Buenos Aires

This tour gives a taste of some of the best art collections in the city. This art tour is tailor-made to guests’ interests and generally includes visits to two art museums and two art galleries or artist ateliers. Among our recommendations are the Fine Arts National Museum, the Museum of Latin American Modern and Contemporary Art (MALBA, Constantini Collection), the small and excellent Xul Solar Museum. Additionally, visits to artist studios and private collections or art auctions can be scheduled in advance upon request. Other popular museums can include Fortabat Collection (Modern Latin American Art Collection) and Fernández Blanco Museum (Colonial Art). Our Art Guides are experienced art curators with university degrees in art and specializations in Latin American Art.

Day 4: Tigre & Delta of Parana River

Drive to ́Tigre ́ the generic name given to the delta region, a watery wonderland of amazing beauty. The local residents move around by boat. Navigate the delta by a classic riverboat. Lunch & Garden Walk at El Descanso Island. Here the owners have created magical gardens and a private art collection. Numerous sculptures from prestigious local artists are set along the landscape. After lunch embark back on your boat for the cruise back to meet your private transfer. Drive along the northern riverside suburbs in the outskirts of Buenos Aires to ́San Isidro’ to explore the cobbled stoned historical neighborhood and visit the Cathedral. Stop for a cup of tea at Clara Martinez’s house and Art Gallery. Back in Buenos Aries visit the Jacques Martinez Gallery.

Day 5: Buenos Aires Private Street Art

Take a street art tour around the different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires showcasing some of the city’s biggest and best murals. After lunch visit the Buenos Aires Museum of Latin American Art (MALBA). Gourmet dinner and Tango show at the Gala Tango, a refined Tango and Folklore show.

Day 6: Buenos Aires / Mendoza

Fly to Mendoza at the foot of the Andes, one of the best wine regions in the world. After lunch, city tour followed by a tour of the Emiliano Guiñazu Museum, home of the works of the famous impressionist Argentine artist Fernando Fader, or visit the renowned Mendocian artist, Sergio Rogerrone, in his home/ studio which is reminiscent of the estancia of Andalucia, Spain. Then, transfer to the Uco Valley Region. We lodge at the Vines Resort & Space, offering laid-back luxury at the based of the majestic Andes Mountains. (3 Nights)

Day 7: Uco Valley Region

Morning is at leisure. Afternoon tour and tasting at “The Vines Winery.” Visit the winery and taste vintages directly from the tanks and barrels. Learn about the custom crush facility and the process of making micro-fermented wines. Dinner at legendary Argentine chef Francis Mallmann’s 7 Fuegos Restaurant.

Day 8: Uco Valley

Off the beaten path, top wineries found optimal soils in this area to grow high-quality grapes and are constructing monumental wineries in this magical land. Intensely green, never ending vines, golden poplar trees along the dirt roads, and the snow-capped Mount Tupungato dominate this beautiful landscape. Head for Uco Valley to visit three wineries in the region. Possible wineries to visit: Bodega Salentein, Andeluna Cellars, and Atamisque among others.

Day 9: Mendoza / Santiago de Chile / U.S.

Transfer to Mendoza’s airport for a flight to nearby Santiago de Chile and connect to international overnight flights to the U.S.

Day 10: Arrive U.S.

Arrive in the U.S. this morning and connect with flights home.
